Winchester 1906 Comes Out of Retirement

img 4345 150x150 Winchester 1906 Comes Out of RetirementMy Great Grandfather purchased a 1906 Winchester rifle and used it to hunt for food for his family. Mostly critters like rabbits as it’s only a 22 caliber. This rifle really is over 100 years old and is in perfect working condition. The 1906 was the first model to feature a round barrel instead of the older octagon style. Based on the serial number, this rifle should have been made in 1907 which features the ability to use both 22 short and 22 long loads. Just days before my Grandfather died he called me over to give me the rifle and tell me the story about it so I could become the caretaker of this piece of family history. I have not even removed it from its holder since my Grandfather died about 8 years ago. I wanted to use it to celebrate it’s background in conjunction with my daughter Taylor. We came up with an idea and put together a quick photo shoot. Some of the images can be seen here.

Taylor Thorne Photo Shoot

img 4386 150x150 Taylor Thorne Photo ShootHad a great session with Taylor tonight. We were trying to come up with a fun idea that would combine a pin-up type of look with a western motif. I came up with the idea for her to use my great-grandfather’s rifle and she came up with the outfit to wear. The combination turned out awesome! Take a look at some of the images below:

Michelle and Josh Wedding

img 0389 2 150x150 Michelle and Josh WeddingMichelle and Josh are one of the funnest couples I have ever worked with and it was my personal pleasure to shoot their wedding this past weekend. I have known Michelle for a few years so I was honered when asked to shoot her engagement shots back in November. We had so much fun during the engagement shoot that I knew the wedding was going to be awesome. I was certainly not let down as the vibe from the crowd was awesome, the ceremony was nice and sweet, and the reception was a blast. For this shoot I worked again with my good buddy David from Esquire Photography and the wedding was the The Grand in Long Beach. Congrats to Michelle and Josh and best wishes for your new future together!
