We went and took a drive through some of the area yesterday. It is pretty mind blowing to see how close to homes and businesses the fire came. Brand new homes in Portola Hills, businesses along Bake, then up along Bake into Foothill Ranch and then east into the wilderness area around Cook’s Corner.

The fires are still raging but fortunately it is now about 12 miles from me but it is now taking out houses up in the canyons. Here is the latest as of this morning with a few pics from around the house.

It’s fire season here in sunny southern California. What’s funny is that people who don’t live here think we have problems with earthquakes but its the yearly fires that do more damage and kill more people every year.
