Ryan and Rachelle Summer Wedding in Yorba Linda

I had been looking forward to this wedding for a long time as I found Rachelle to be so much fun to work with and couldn’t wait to meet Ryan as he has been off serving our country. We couldn’t have asked for better weather and the Messiah Lutheran Church in Yorba Linda made for an awesome backdrop to the ceremony. Afterward we headed over to the Alta Vista Country Club where we ran around the course for some special shots and then headed inside where Ross was keeping the dance floor rocking. Now something I have never seen (nor heard of until now) was the Hoedown Throwdown which the wedding party and a number of guests all did during the reception.

Note: The Hoedown Throwdown should be well known to any Hannah Montana fans

LA Shoot This – Craig Park

It was my honor to be asked to speak again at the LA Shoot This group. This time I talked about getting your exposure and your white balance nailed in-camera. When it came to the shooting, the models were absolutely wonderful, there was enough of a breeze to keep us from overheating, and the location offered a nice variety of shooting locations. Here is a handful of some of my favorites shots of the day.

Sandra and Kaleo Engagement Shoot – Los Angeles

Today I met up with Sandra and Kaleo in the artist district in downtown Los Angeles for their engagement shots. I had never been to the art district and the mural artists there simply do amazing things with cans of spray paint. Next was a quick stop off by the LA river basin followed by some quick pics at the Musicbox.Â They were both such good sports today and I can’t wait for their wedding this fall.

Lauren Elizabeth Portrait Session

Mya Lyn Photoshoot

Yesterday morning Mya came over to help me get some shots I need for an upcoming article on Camera Dojo and she needed some new shots for her portfolio. After I got the shots I needed for the article we went to work on getting her some images. Mya was just excellent to work with, she moved well, took direction great, and looked amazing. Mya will be one of the featured models in one of my upcoming lighting workshops as well. Here are some of my favorite shots.

Kristi and Aaron Engagement Shoot

There is just something about an engagement shoot that is usually very special. The shoots are usually not rushed, the location often has some special meaning, there isn’t a big crowd of people, and it gives me a chance to get to know the couple better. All of these came together for Kristi and Aaron’s engagement shoot which took place in a very small, secluded park where Aaron had got Kristi to go for a walk one evening. As they were taking in the view of the ocean, Aaron dropped to one knee to propose, so it was only appropriate that we did their engagement shoot at the same spot.Â Tagging along as my VOLS (voice operated light stand) was my good friend Jeff Sipper from Sipper Photography.

Taylor Thorne Portrait Shoot

Its always fun to step out of the day to day grind and do something that is both fun and creative. Taylor wanted to do some portraits that were very classical looking, which happens to be my favorite style, so I jumped at the chance to setup some traditional lighting and make some awesome images.

Peter and Lilliana Wedding

YesterdayI got the pleasure of shooting a nice, intimate ceremony and after-party for Peter and Lilliana. Starting at St. John The Babtist church in Costa Mesa and then heading over to a parent’s house for a little party and some shots out on the gold course. Everyone was a joy to work with and were all a lot of fin to work with. Best wishes to them as they start their new lives together.

Hayley Headshot Shoot

Hayley has a casting call this week and needed a simple headshot. But, of course, I went overboard and shot tons of images because she was so much fun to work with. Alex and Genevieve Wedding

For what is probably the last wedding of the season, I shot along with David from Esquire Photography for a fantastic day with Alex and Genevieve. I went off to work with the guys while David was off with the girls. We then headed off to the Nativity Catholic Church for very nice ceremony, then off to the Seal Beach pier where we all froze of tooshies off. Finally we headed over to Old Ranch Country Club for a fun-filled reception that ran until midnight. Alex and Genevieve where a total blast to work with and their bridal party kept us laughing all night. Happy Holidays and best wishes on your new life together!
