Why I bought a Sony NEX 5n Mirrorless Camera
I really love taking a camera everywhere but lugging my DSLR means at LEAST a messenger bag with extra lenses, batteries, flashes, etc. On the flip side, a Point and Shoot just doesn’t give me the flexibility or image quality I want. With Father’s Day coming up my wife told me to go get whichever camera I wanted as she knew I had been researching mirrorless cameras and there was just no way for her to pick one out. With quite a bit of research, and more than a little help from Patrick up at Samy’s in Los Angeles, I decided on the Sony NEX 5n. To summarize the reasons for picking this one it was for the following reasons:
- APS-C Sized Sensor (same as in my Canon EOS 7D)
- 1080p Video Recording up to 60fps (not interpolated like most cameras)
- Touch Screen (very cool for doing focus pulls in video)
- Optical Image Stabilization
- Flash was included
Since this just scratches the surface of what went into the decision process, I wrote up a rather detailed article on why I bought the Sony NEX 5n over at Camera Dojo. Be sure and read the article for all the juicy details.
